2 1/2 axle???

ok i found a set of 2 1/2 ton axle pretty cheap but it need a rear pinion how hard is it to change a rear pinion on a 2 1/2 ton axle has 5.83 and where could i get one

not with a 5.83. top loaders came with 6.72

for 400 bucks......pretty cheap for gms.....would get you started working your way to real 2 1/2 tons

if i remember right...pinions drop out like a ford 9".......dont quote me on that......should be easy to find

ok im prolly goin do since there pretty cheap but would i have to get new drive shaft or any thing else to do the swap or would the bolt right up

i couldnt tell you on if they would bolt up or not...never ran them....Le Dude had or has a set right now i think....pm him...he should be able to tell you.
