what do i need to build a 383 stroker?

i knew that it was hard on internals and all that but depending on my funds in the future that will be the decider on what i build

save your money and build an LS series motor. hot rod magazine just built one:
Funny thing is they thought it was a 5.3 until after they got it off the dyno, then they pulled the pan and ran the crank number and realized it was a 4.8...... They wanted to see how much HP a stock LS motor could take, they did over 60 pulls(with most being over 1000hp) and pumped 26lbs of boost into the motor. The only other things they did was have the heads ported, installed a FAST intake with 75lb/hr injectors and installed a cam, but the short block was all stock.......And just think NO Forged Internals!!!!!!

ive always been told when building a motor that there is no replacement for displacement. no turbo, nos, supercharger or anything like that will never make the same power as a built motor that does need that stuff to put the power out

you got a little to learn

ever watch pro mod cars?  they run pretty ''built'' motors... the rule for naturally aspirated  is 805ci, 526ci with forced induction. who wins? almost everytime its a forced induction car...

if you took ANY motor, run it down the track, put nos on it, then run it, it WILL go faster...

and all boost is, is restriction.

plus, everyones idea of a "built" motor is a little different...

bore is too small. you would have to run a 1.94 valves, which is fine, but less air/fuel, less power.

id build a 355 or a 377

well i found out today that a family friend of ours was gunna sracp his dump truck and i asked him how much he wanted for the 366 in it and he said i could just take it so im gunna go get that. then i also have my uncle whos gunna give me a kinda built 305 out of a junk truck of his. so i think imma put one of these ones in for now cause my motor now is just plum worn out and tired. but i still want to build that 383 one day but thats just me. but after i grow up alil bit maybe ill learn what kinda motor to run

yea but if i put a bbc stroker in now i think those ol' 10 bolts will go bye bye. i think the only thing that wont break or wear out faster would be my t-case, im sure that 205 can hold whatever i throw at it

move ur engine back and keep good u joints in it dont get on it in turns and especially dont job it it will be fine lots of guys run them

yea ill move it back when i get a high hp big bock in it but for now i think with what i wanna run i can get through everything i want alrite and when i move on to bigger stuff ill upgrade when i dont have the stuff to do it anymore. but right now man i just wanna build a good motor, buy a 400 turbo and hook that to my 205 and i should have a pretty builtproof drivetrain

yea if u make sure gearing is right and ya have all driveline working in unison a stock motor will move ya threw the mud but add a nasty cam some better heads and youll have a hell of a motor.  but like JC said build a 355 they are strong ass motors if built right

i have 373 gears right now and i can go through everything i want to right now but i want a few more ponies and alil more rpms so that i can do it alil bit easier...and faster casue steves swamp takes alil bit right now, especially at the end
