not much of a debate when someone is tired of hearing about it on the news cause the victim is black...u defend them...i won't....then to top if off some of the debaters don't bother to read all the posts and just comment on the one above them or below them lmao...so their comments are not only dead wrong but make no sense. and i do apologize for taking some things to far but some on this thread need to take a good look at them self and what they type. white/black everyone deserves justice and a right to life. jmt

FYI I read all posts before I comment on any thread,  And as I recall no-one said that he shot him because he was black, some said his mom made it a black and white thing and the media did. there is no post with someone saying that. Also the media is portraying it as a hate crime or race crime. And I too am sick of hearing this on the news why cant the news report all of the story on any matter..... because they wont get the ratings. instead the twist it into there own perversion of the truth and gets half of the idiots in America to believe it.  the best thing is that zimmerman's not even white hes mexican so hows that a black and white thing? This kinda of stuff happens all the time, this is just one case the media decided to pick up and make a big deal about it.    Remember Casey Anthoney.... Media picked up on that and my God everytime I turned on the tv there was something about it on. There are people that do that same stuff to there kids all the time and it doesnt turn into a media frenzy. About 3 weeks ago I Read that a mother in I think detroit killed her baby and thru it out in the garbage..... nothing on the news about that but a quick clip over and never heard again...... I dont think Zimmerman will get a fair trial because of all the media distortion, and the jury will have there mind made up, but hopefully when all the evidence that is shown to them, cuz we dont know it all, they can make a non biased decision. guitly or not

to me this was an unfortunate incedent where a busy body man was assaulted by a troubled teen and had to shoot to defend himself from great bodily harm. thats the way the courts will see it also

  the "castle doctorine"  before they instated it. is if someone was in your house and you could escape wether it be out a window or just locking yourself in a room you had too. you could not defend your home if you did shoot someone YOU had to prove that retreat was not an option.

under the stand your ground laws you have no "duty to retreat" from your own home or on the street for that matter if your in iminent danger, or someone elses life is in danger or they are being sexually asaulted.

THE CASTLE DOCTRINE AND "STAND YOUR GROUND" HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS SITUATION. according to the FACTS that have been released there is no way Z could have retreated as TM was on top of him beating him.

nothing more than a clean self defense shooting. the only person that did anything ILLEGAL is TM and he paid for it with his life. following someone is not justifaction to jump them. you are allowed in the course of defending yourself to meet violence with escaladed violence. if someone has a knife and you fear for your life you  can meet that knife with a bullet. if someone is dribbling your head off the concrete like a basketball. you can escalate that with a bullet

yes and no, Castle doctrine is self defense within your "Castle" (home)
Stand your ground is seperate yet included in the Castle doctrine - the ability to "stand your ground"
outside of your castle (home)

there are specific parameters for each.

Zimmerman does not fall into that "stand your ground" parameter.

I did not at all like the way the media portrayed TM as some little innocent kid who was minding his own business,and than made it appear like Zimmerman was some sort of a white thug. But after 55 years on this earth, I've grown used to media coddling in situations like this.

When POTUS and Oprah the two most powerful black people on the planet come out against you, you are screwed.  To top it off  the Judge has opined in a 7 page hate document against George Zimmerman in the bail hearing that GZ was decptive and fraudulent with the court.  Unfortunately for the Constitution and people who care for it, the judge has made this opinion while Mr. Zimmerman did nothing more then exercise his right to remain silent!!!  GZ made zero statements at his bond hearing, but the judge wrote 7 pages how he interpreted GZ silence as being deceptive and raised his bond to a million.  He wrote this opinion because GZ wife allegedly lied at the bond hearing.  The judge opined that GZ should have told on his wife on the spot for lying under oath, thus stealing another Constitutional right away from him that one does not have to testify against a spouse.  If GZ wife did lie under oath, then that has nothing to do with George.  What will the gov't do next, place murder charges on MRS Zimmerman because her husband killed a man in self defense?  Nothing would surprise me anymore.  So far GZ is not getting a fail trial and I seriously doubt it will change.  However, the gov't can steal all the rights away they want, but they cannot take his freedom without the jury, and I do not see a jury of 12 people convicted him of anything under these circumstances.  To hell with the idiot rioters, all those idiots do is burn down their own crap hole neighborhoods anyway.

That Judge is trying to appease the President, maybe he will get lucky and get appointed to the Supreme Court for his work against Zimmerman!!!!!!
