i understand people not wanting their gov to take away their guns but the founding fathers also made it so the constitution could be amended...because they realized they didn't know everything and couldn't possibly predict the future so they left an out clause. sane people need shot guns and rifles to hunt...not ak-47's and glock's....those type of people more often than not are the scumbags that r killing your families and importing all the drug which leads to more crime and violence...if u can't see a pattern and a way to fix it is limit these types of guns they i pray karma gets your family before some azzwipe with a gun gets mine.

There is a right to own all firearms.

The Second Amendment wasn't written just so we could hunt animals. It was written so that the militia – which is comprised of the people – would have the right to individually keep and bear military rifles.

That was whole point of the amendment. That means that a ban on scary-looking guns would be a complete violation of the Constitution. A supposed tyrannical government would have the latest and greatest arms, and so should the people's militia.

The Second Amendment still covers modern guns for the same reason the First Amendment covers the Internet and blogs. The Second Amendment protects all guns from being banned for the same reason the First Amendment protects all religions from being banned.

This is why it matters that we don't ban "assault" rifles. They're not magical. They're just like other guns, meaning they're dangerous and deadly. And that's why Americans should own them – because the American people should be a dangerous and deadly force that our own government and foreign governments should be a little concerned about.

It's just what's necessary for the security of a free state.

The historical definition and context of "arms" meant essentially weapons that individuals could carry on their person. This means firearms, swords, spears, bows and arrows, etc. This includes quite a bit, but it doesn't include nuclear warheads

what you are pretty much saying is that ak's and ar's are scarry weapons, i could say the same thing about a 2x4.

i said more often than not leaving room for normal people...but if u feel the need to defend yourself than yes i am probably talking about people like u. I'm not making apologies for not thinking you shouldn't have the right to own assault weapons...someone has to speak up for the victims cause they can't do it for them self.

You are not speaking out against anyone being the victim from an assault weapon,  When you become a "victim" because you don't feel the need to defend your self or your family becomes a "victim" because there is no need to protect them, we all will see how the whole no need to defend your self thing worked out.... and I guess you should of been a "scumbag" like us so that in a situation like that you and your family would live and not become victims.

And well if you don't feel the need to own a firearm for protection against the crazed thugs out there, you might want to take a walk through my neighborhood, and if you really have the balls, go a little norther of my neighborhood in the night time or hell even day time, and tell me how that works out for you especially if your not black!!! I've collected military firearms for 17 years and own several ASSAULT RIFLES..............but I've never ASSAULTED anybody with them and use them for target shooting.

As a law abiding American with no criminal record/history,  I should be able to own any type of rifle I want!!!!

If good peaple live in bad neighborhoods they have every right to protect their families from criminals on the streets.  

Look at NEW YORK CITY, its illegal to possess a firearm in that city without a permit unless your law enforcement.  Guess that means all the CROOKS have guns while the working class people have nothing to defend themselves with..............and you wonder why NY city has a bad crime rate.

wow    we all know a rifle = 1  hole   a shotgun = many holes for home saftey.     

  myself is a pistol at home  in many locations   but also have several rifles  prep  even an ar/m6  which all are in a cabnet no good to stop a home invasion .    by no means does this make me tough or out of being a target.   times are rough for sure     .and auto weapons have always had a bad issue with the amount of ammo and the speed they shoot   .     We as understanding adults know its the ppl not the gun.

Magic....I never said Midland was rough or a hood,   I simply said as a law abiding citizen with a clean record I should be able to OWN whatever type of military rifle I WANT.  And that people who do live in rough areas have every right to protect themselves and their families..........so by all means re-read my first comment carefully.

Also those ( rough areas ) like Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, and SAGINAW.........(I've been in the bad areas of Saginaw more than once).........dont care to drive through there, and sure as hell not live there.     And the reason those areas turned into (bad) areas is because of the migration of (afro-americans) to those areas...........so on that issue.......the truth does hurt.

Bottom line folks....... is that we live our lives the way we want, if I choose to own guns, thats my busniness.....if you choose to be anti gun......thats your business........and as long as we repsect one another there shouldnt be a problem
