Yeah.  But should be pretty similiar.  Both are completly computer controlled.

putting the vortec flexplate/flywheel too a 350 turbo convertor is the issue/??? 6 bolts versa 3 on the torque converter   vortec/one piece rear main is different than older 2 piece engine for the flywheel  on the old style flywheel theres  5 bolts for converter and enuff area too drill new holes  smaller diameter on the vortec one not enuff room     ???

Captn. J

Ttt anybody knows if a 350 trans will work.  I might have to drill holes on flywheel.  But what about vaccum for trans?

Yes  a th350 trans will work, yo can either drill new holes or buy the correct flex plate....they shouldn't be to much.....but best way I've found to drill the new holes, is take flex plate off and do it on a bench with converter down, as in input shaft hole down and get the flex plate on the converter, make sure its to cocked on an angle and mark your holes, I use a sharpie, and then use to small of a bit and just go bigger bits till its the right size hole, this way if its off center at all you can kinda correct it

yes you can use a 350 or a 400 or a 700 with teh motor, youll have to either drill or replace the flex plate but the motor it's self doesn't care what's behind it as long as it's bolted tight, did a 454 like this in my old truck, and used a 700r4, i just switched mine over to a 4bbl carb and hei ignition and it ran great

i m keeping it FI   and where hell do i find flex plate  but i might as well drill it   and now another thing is i wanted to run upright headers    what would i have to do with the 02 sensors?

I would just run a resistor on the o2 wires and not have them hooked up, but you can always drill and weld a bung in the collector and put o2 sensor in,

Call me dumb but what is a resistor? Where do I get them?

Radio shack has them...look up what the ohms are out of the o2 when engine is warmed to operating temp, I believe it is closed loop? Then go to radio shack and get the same ohms resistor and wire in to the o2 harness, it is tricking the computer to think there is a perfectly good working o2 sensor hooked up, when nothing is actually there, and no it won't throw the fuel curve off. Resistors are only a couple bucks so its by far the cheapest way to go

Wouldn't surprise me loll I'm surprised they are still in business as long as they have been now, but either way.....

The oxigen sensor puts out about 0.5V at correct mixture ratio.
To simulate that, two resistors in series, a 9K and a 1K between 5V line and ground will produce the 0.5V voltage at their center tap to fool the computer.

If o2 sensors are heated.....
To simulate the heater, a light bulb or a resistor that draws the same current as the sensor heater element will do it.

Or you can leave the bulb off or resistor if they are heated and it will just trip a code, nothing will happen, just a code saying the heater Isnt working on them
