Im a grown man, if your truck is out of control that close to the crowd then its your responsibility to get it and stay as in control as possible, i for one dont have kids but i have taken my cousin to bogs because she loves it, and if anyone was out of control and hit her.... All i got to say is, if you go to a bog to get stupid drunk and drive its still driving under the influence, drinking and driving is not aloud at small tracks "dixie/autocity", for safety of the big horsepower accidents

you let me know when you are gonna drive a mud truck with 4 to 5  hundred horse and you think you are gonna be always in "control" of it ok....you have a lot to learn about life. you just keep bringing kids to mud bogs and some day when they get hurt and the bog gets shut down we can all have a debate over whose job is it to take care of the people you brought to an "adult" event :)
its not the truck its the driver who thinks he needs to show off out of pit RE; donuts, racing around boggin should be done in pit  RESPECT THE PROPERTY AND ITS OWNER

100% agree....and as far as keep it civil i feel the need to stand up for the boggers who go to put on a show and have mr know it all without a truck tell us that we are the problem and should pay the bulk of the price...

Here's an awnser for everyone... If you don't like the price don't go, if you don't like the drinking don't go... There are bogs that are 5 dollar min donation and there are comp bogs that allow no drinking by the drivers pick your battles end of story, there is no "real" rules when at a play bog its up to the owners to keep control and charge what they feel is ok, sometime its good, sometimes its not so good end rant

I understand both sides of this discussion. But.

Building a truck takes money. No arguement there at all. Look at just the cost of a good set of tires.
I have also thought the cost of getting into some bogs was a bit pricey.

But how many of the people that have commented on here have gone to concerts or even a pro ball game of some type?

You think nothing of paying 35-100 dollars for a ticket. Pay obscene amounts for drinks and food, enjoy yourself. And go home.

Well, you had a nice time didn't you.  Never mind that some of that exspensive ticket money goes to cleaning up after the event.
I'm not saying every person who goes to a event leaves a mess behind. BUT there is always a mess to clean up afterwards.

Sorry to say,but its kinda like that at a bog. Alot of people mentioned the prep at a bog.

What about the clean up. After its all done everyone had a blast.

Do you seriously think the ruts that are in the pit are gonna level themselves out?  What about cleaning the mud out of the pit area?
Who picks up the garbage?   Any volunteers??

The cost of a truck was mentioned. Like i said. I build em all the time. Nothing on them is cheap. Anyone stop to think what the cost of that nice 4x4  tractor, dozer or excavator  that hooked up to everyone costs?? Think they are free??  That isn't someones toy. They make a living with that. So if something gets broke on it. It has to be fixed. And it doesn't get to sit there until they can afford the parts.

I noticed the people who put on the major bogs have not chimed in on this. Maybe you should ask them what it cost to put on a bog before you start bashing prices, or better yet. Help put on a bog, or put one on yourself.

Swampthing you have a lot of good points. I k ow the better/ bigger bogs will pull in 8k easy on one bog. I used to help run one of them so I have seen the $ that rolls in from a well known and liked pit, but let the drinking and people get out of controll and it will be shut down faster than you can blink.

I looked at it as a buisness, that machine that is used for recovery gets paid for, without it you most likely won't have a good turn out of trucks, no trucks no people to watch, no people to watch no $ rolling in.
We as mudders pay good $ to run our rigs and I don't mind paying.... but I think we need to make these events safer. Keep the spectators seperat from the boggers a lot like what Perkins did!
That way the people are out of harms way a much as possible, plus it really sucks when you want to run your truck but you have to walk around for an hour to find out who the a**hole is the parked their car behind your truck is so that they can move! Just my opinion.

MR NASTY

Swamp thing the debate is the spectator vrs truck price not the price in general

The debate was why should a truck have to pay more to get into a bog.

You think if no truck showed that the people still will?  No they will follow the action/the reason they came in the first place
