Ok, I gave it a 3" suspension lift by unloading all the junk and scrap out of it, mustve been enough crap in there to build 3 trucks, geez! Ive moved and its in a real garage now with a CONCRETE FLOOR (holy crap, what a concept) and BIG FRANK is the guy that got it here for me, awesome dude right there! Many thanks to him! applaudd Just as soon as I get a few more things fixed in the house, I will be gettin this long-winded project runnin and hit some holes and trails, woohoo! ;D ==wgm

Ive hit a financial stumblin block and havent had any money to finish this with. I need brake and fuel lines, exhaust gaskets, and some knick knack items here and there to finish it, man I hate bein broke!  ;D

I got me some exhaust gaskets and studs, maybe I can change the studs without screwin up, I do have torch gas now..  8)

Gettin pretty close, got the manifolds fixed up and on there, y-pipe is in it, gotta get some more acytelene so I can weld the rest of the pipe together, then its all about fuel and brake lines and checkin every single bolt on it for tightness.  ;D

Ive decided to turn loose of the blazer frame project as Im short on cash and really want to focus on this truck right here, its gettin close to done. Hopefully I can get another bogger type soon, but I want the whole thing together, dont wanna have to look for every single thing that goes to it loll

==hmmm ==duh ==help  ==roll  I do believe I have run into a situation with the wiring of this thing. The 2wd cab "appears" to have some connectors that do not match up with the 91 4wd motor. I never wouldve thought there would be any difference! ==roll I say appears because I could very well just be lookin at things wrong or cross-eyed loll but it seems like somethin aint right, and Im not real sure how to proceed. I DID save the complete engine wiring harness and computer from the 91, the cab Im usin is a 90 2wd. I had the thought to just throw the 91 4wd harness on it, but who knows if the pins are lined up anywhere similar on the 2 bulkheads where they go through the firewall on the drivers side. Could short it all out and burn the truck down, ya know. Im pretty sure the 91 4wd harness will not work as the part where the computer wires go through the firewall on the passenger side - that plastic grommet thing - its completely different. Im tryin not to do a "hack job" on this, the theory was to make my truck into an ext cab 4x4 and spend as little as possible. I do have a 1976 350 carb motor sittin on a stand complete and ready to rock, that would solve the problem but Id prefer to have the TBI in it as thats whats supposed to be in there. I do realize I will need to add in a circuit to activate the front axle, no big deal there, but should I go to the junkyard and get 2wd sensors or will it still be different.. ==dunno

great job marty, i hate to see you let it go after all that work...

You know what Chad, youre right. Ive decided to finish this truck. I sold the motor out of it for a K5 Blazer body, so I'm goin to put the powertrain out of the grey truck in it and part the grey truck out. That will be my tow rig for the K5 Blazer.

MAJOR SCREW-UP RIGHT HERE, SHOULDVE LEFT THAT 2WD MOTOR IN THERE!!! JUST SEEN IT THE OTHER DAY AND IT STILL RUNS GOOD!! LESSON LEARNED. I decided to not fool with the body lift just yet as Im short on cash and I dont have the metric bolts it requires, I have a set of standard bolts for a 73-87. Gotta go buy metric bolts and either bumper brackets or make some bumpers, so that will have to wait.

Because I sold quite a few parts off the 91 and then scrapped the rest along with the 2wd stuff that I didnt need anymore, the truck is actually payin me to do this job, Im a couple hundred ahead and have a 4wd ext cab but it dont run cuz Ive got the wiring all screwed up ==lmaoo

ToughBowtieTruck

Can you get pics of those connectors ? You have me curious as to what is going on with them.

old school truck dude

I sure can, Ill have some on here tomorrow evening

RIP_K52007

Could be like my s10... buncha extra wires everywhere for options my truck didnt come with. GM just threw a harness in there that covered everything that could have got ordered I guess ==roll

Ok, didnt end up bein near as bad as what I thought.. Many thanks to Toughbowtietruck, he's right on target. The tps was the connector that was screwin me up, so I cut it off and put the right one on there from the 91 4x4 harness and now all thats left is replace the coolant sensor because it got smashed and the temp sensor because its wrong, no problem. It should run after that, gotta get some more fuel line, brake line, and some knick-knack junk. Still got alot of little stuff to take care of..

And now I'm unemployed, sux cuz I got all kinds of time to spend on it but no money! ==censor

THINGS LEFT TO DO:

1) Cut hole in the floor for tcase shifter
2) Fuel lines
3) Brake lines
4) Master cylinder
5) Body lift
6) Cab corners and rocker panels
7) Wire up front axle

And 957 other little things that Im not thinkin of at the moment!

I have a cb and radio to install, doors need put together, geez the list just goes on and on. It has a nice cloth interior and I wanted it all to match so I had to change the entire guts of the doors because the handles mounted differently.
