ive been on here for awhile and i fugured i might as well start something on my truck. its not much but its good enough for me, for now lol.

ok so when i first bought the truck it was in pieces. mostly bought it cause it was already lifted, and for $350 i couldnt let it go by. but no driveshafts, wasnt running, needed transmission line, needed smaller bolts and not 2 inches of washers to make a bolt work (can you say fustercluck). also some new shoes. so i got it in the garage and buttoned everything up then with the help of my dad i got it running. ran good but smoked alil bit, no biggie. it was just a 305 with some work. so i found some driveshaft, got them in and suprisingly it moved. it still has the stock 79' turbo 350 and NP 205 transfer case. the only thing that i didnt need to mess with when i got it was the axles, they are just 10 bolts with 3.08 gears.

so since ive got it and really started playing with it ive put new shoes under it, 36'' super swamper TSL radials with grooves. made and put on a GOOD rear tow point that has been prooven to work lol, the front is still in the works bout half way done. and last month i dropped a new heart in it and swapped out the worn out 305 for a built 350 pushing around 450 horse.

but soon i hope ill be putting in a manual trans with a creeper gear. a doubler 203/205 transfercase. more lift. bigger axles, thinking rockwells? then getting some tractors for it. and whatever else sounds good to me to make it better.

Just a heads up on putting the old stick behind kinda sucks. I have around a 450hp/460tq bbc 427 with a stick behind it. I love sticks but would never put one behind a high horse motor in a lifted truck. Mine hates anything under 2grand so taking off sucks. Once your going its great till you have to shift. The old sticks have no syncs between gears so you have to wait and loose wheel spin. Go with a well built auto with a stall.have fun ++peace

hahaha put "smurf this" on the tailgate. Sounds like a cool rig, I do agree on the sm465, you can ask 73chevytruck on here about it, you loose all your wheel speed between gears and that getsya stuck. but to each their own, I drive manuals all over but agreed if i was to build an all out mud bogger it would be a automatic. or a old prestomatic design like dodge had.

so ive been slacking lately cause of my accident with my ear so been in the docs for that and down at meps for the navy..... but! i got the old front axle out and i got the rocks laying underneath of it right now and today i went over to budd farm and did a few things and got myself a set of roller tires. dad brought home some scrap tubing from work from a job that had some left overs so i got that cut that got up and im gunna use for 8'' lift blocks so now ill have some room to flex and i wont have to shave anything hopefully now
