Tranny removal

Can I drop the trans and the Tcase at the same time? Like leave the Tcase still attached to the trans.

It's a 700r4 with a 208 Tcase. I was gunna drain all the fluid so I'm not holding an extra 14qts. But it will be me and a friend removing. Don't have a tranny jack:( and it's cold outside

Well I know there's a support bar that goes from the Tcase to the bell housing. It's cold outside, I don't want to be messing around too long. Lol.

still will be a bictch for 2 person cuz u wont be able get in good position to hold it up , but good luck and be safe , use jack or maybe straps to hold em up while u re unbolting em

Straps are a good idea! Thanks. I don't have a jack, but the truck is tall enough that I can kneel comfortably, so I could prolly hold the top or bottom of the trans on my shoulder while my friend holds up the other end.

I always drop the tcase b4 I drop the trans. It only takes like 15 xtra min with a 208

How much tranny fluid does that tcase hold?

it doesnt hold that many quarts maybe 4 or 5

unbolt the convertor from the flywheel, take the transfercase off the trans. there is no shortcuts to this job. if your outside have a can for every nut and bolt, and take the distributor cap off so you dont break it.
