Well I have been on the hunt for work for a couple months now, I have called landscapers, tree "people", and several temp services, as well as put in applications at several stores/businesses, and factorys.. All want the same thing, WORK EXPERIENCE.  Heres the problem, if no one will hire me because i do not have any, how am i suppose to get some???

check out Pepsi, Coke, and Fabiano Brothers.  they are all looking for seasonal warehouse workers.  it'll be third shift, but it'll pay VERY well.  i was getting $18.54 at pepsi last summer, driving fork trucks and loading trucks.
I'm not stuck!  I'm just temporarily parked!

1991 Chevy K1500.  350cid, 5spd manual.  No lift "yet," with 33x12.5x15s.

thats the tough thing with the economy being in the crapper, places that are hiring, can now be picky and get the best candidate, since so many people have lost jobs theyre resorting back to whatever they knew, my brother was a carpenter for 15 years, and he went into real estate for about 2 years and now he is back to swinging a hammer, guess bottom line is, if you dont know someone who can put in a good word for you. its really hard to get a job anymore, even just being a cashier is a hard job to obtain anymore, check out walmart / meijer, they usually hire people with no experience.

best of luck to you with your job hunt, i was on unemployment for 2 years before i finally found a job.

also if you have poor credit, it will also effect you being able to get a job that handles money, such as a cashier.

One of the temp services had me lined up with FedEx until they saw i didnt have experience with fork lifts, then they cancled that, i will call and see if coke is hiring!

My credit should be w/e it starts at, i have nothing in my name and never had a bill, everything is in my mothers name and i give her the money.

was just saying, i made some poor choices when i was 18 and got 2 credit cards and maxed them out, dropped my credit down to about a 540, since then over the last 5 years ive paid them back over 25k in fees / what i racked up, and my credit is still struggling, wasnt saying you had poor credit, just saying they do factor everything in anymore, hell if they dont like the way you look they wont hire you.

best of luck finding a job man, like i said, ive been there for 2 years, pounding pavement, surfing job ads online, took me forever to find somewhere to hire me.

Wrong, I was at a temp service, and they asked me because i have it down as volunteer, and i told the truth, they said it is not even volunteer, but i fixed that fast as i went to work couple saturdays without pay and did work.

as stated above if you get payed cash its not work experience, as you cant prove it by the state. In there eyes i have no experience.

A lot of landscaping companies hire temp. jobs for summer and pay cash,    it does count as work experience weather its paid cash or by check. Just remember if its a cash paid job it still needs to be claimed on taxes...... a lot of professional companies hire temp/ seasonal work that pays cash.... roofing companies are another, my dad owns our landscaping company, and I pretty much run it work experience is anything that you have done that relates to a job your applying for.

I mean say your trying to get a job in construction, you would tell them that you have no experience and have never worked in the field before... they obviously wont hire you.... you tell em your good with a tape measure, can swing a hammer, catch on real fast and your a good hard worker, hell even tell em you build a shed or a deck... I mean you have a better chance than before :)
